Daily gambling pick 1/28/17

OVERALL RECORD: 5-1-0, +3.47 units

LOCK OF THE DAY RECORD: 0-0-0, +0.0 units

The rules of my gambling will be simple. Provide daily picks at odds better than -150. No type of bet is off limit. Spread bets, money line bets, teasers, over/unders, and parlays are all allowed. If a future is bet, it will be recorded at the bottom until it wins or loses. All bets will be one unit ($10) unless stated. Lets gamble!

Recap

Yesterday started poorly with Manchester City drawing with Lyon in the afternoon. While they still qualified for the knockout round, they conceded two goals to Maxwel Cornet. Aymeric Laporte and Sergio Aguero saved City, earning them a draw. The Sabres went into the third period winning 1-0, scored quickly to go up 2-0, but gave up two goals in the third forcing overtime. Jeff Skinner scored 1:30 into overtime, giving the Sabres the win. This was the Sabres tenth straight win, giving back a nice 1.1 units. For the final game, Nevada took care of business against Loyola Chicago. Leading by sixteen at halftime, the Ramblers came back out in the second half and tried to come back, but came up short. The Wolfpack won by fourteen, led by the Martin twins with a combined 41 points.

Ohio State Buckeyes (-4.5 at -123) vs Syracuse Orange

The annual Big Ten/ACC challenge is on going with the Syracuse Orange traveling to Columbus to face the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ohio State is one of the best shooting teams in the country, shooting 50 percent from the floor and 39 percent from beyond the arc. Averaging eighty points a game, the Buckeyes will be able to score on the Orange’s secondary. Jim Boeheim’s squad does not shoot the three ball very well at 29 percent. Syracuse has not played a true road game this year and Ohio State’s scoring is better than average at home. The Buckeyes should make life hard for the Orange, helping the Big Ten win the challenge.

Saint Louis Blues (ML at -127) vs Detroit Red Wings

Neither of these teams are very good. The Wings are bottom ten in goals scored, goals against, shots, and shots against. They have given up seventeen goals in their last five games with seven of them in their last matchup. Both teams are in the bottom of the conference, making this a game of ‘who sucks less’. The Blues are slightly better offensively, scoring four and six goals in their last two games. Their offense will put it all together and score a couple goals to win them the game. The Blues are 6-1 in the last seven matches held in Detroit, and the road team is 11-2 when these two teams meet up. Saint Louis will continue this trend of road teams winning, with not a lot of scoring happening.

Saint Louis Blues (UNDER 5.5 at +102) vs Detroit Red Wings

Again, neither of these teams are very good. Both struggle to score the puck and do not seem like they will today. Yes, both defenses are bad, but the Blues and Red Wings love unders. For Saint Louis, the under is 4-0 against teams with a losing record and 4-0 in their last four road games. For Detroit, the under is 2-0-2 in their last four games against teams from the Central. The big overall stat is the under is 5-1 in the last six games when these two teams play in Detroit. Both offenses will struggle with the under cashing.
