If you are not rooting for Duke/UNC part 4, you're insane

How are you not rooting for this game to be played again? Two of the biggest programs in college basketball, the best rivalry in college basketball, in the biggest game in college basketball. Zion, Cam, and RJ vs Maye, Johnson, and White. With the ACC semifinal probably being the best college basketball game of the season, we were robbed of this full strength matchup twice during the regular season. Not only is this a matchup I personally want, this is a matchup America NEEDS.

Carolina leads the season series 2-1, but it comes with 2 big asterisk marks. Duke’s win could arguably be considered better than both Carolina’s combined as it was in the ACC tournament and both teams were at full strength. The semifinal game was an electric, fast paced game that America got screwed out of having in the regular season.

Zion uses a powerful dribble on the baseline and throws down a dunk to get the crowd going. Nearly two seconds later, Cam Johnson is dunking the ball after one dribble from Cody White and a touch pass from Brandon Robinson.

Imagine the ACC semifinal game and its intensity and passion, times a million because the National Championship is on the line. As if the rivalry needed more passion. The teams have never met in the NCAA tournament and this would be one hell of a time to have your first matchup. The freshman of Duke vs the experience of UNC. Both teams have fans all across the country, so the Final Four being in Minneapolis would have no effect on atmosphere.

Thank you selection committee for putting these teams on opposite sides of the bracket. Both one seeds, this matchup actually has a really good chance of happening. If you are one of those people that like to root against Duke, stop it. If UNC finds a way to lose before the National Championship, fine. Root against Duke as hard as you possibly want to. However, a Tobacco Road tournament game, let alone a National Championship would be the peak of college basketball.
