$430 million over 12 years. That is a shit load of money. Mike Trout is still making the biggest mistake in baseball history. The Los Angeles Angels? Are you kidding? They are the least relevant team in the city(INCLUDING soccer) and probably a bottom five relevant team in Major League Baseball. The greatest player of all time is going to be stuck of the Los Angeles Angels for his entire career?

This man is never going to win a World Series. A team with Mike Trout on it has made the playoffs twice in his career. TWICE. 2 playoff appearances in 9 years for the best baseball player of all time? How does his competitive spirit allow him to resign for this team? The Angels have never proven that they will ever be competitive in the AL West let alone World Series contenders.

Could you imagine what this would be like in different sports? LeBron may as well be doing the same thing in the same city. Yes, the Lakers are more relevant team in the city, but he is getting roasted for not winning a championship while taking up a huge amount of money on the team. This may as well be the exact same thing. The Angels have proven time after time that they will never be good enough to support Trout. Pujols was supposed to be that player, but he has been nowhere near the support Trout needs.

Here is the kicker; He could’ve gone nearly anywhere in the league and still gotten this same contract. He is that good of a player. Mike Trout is that good. Almost nearly team would be more competitive than the Angels. Even the New York Mets could of been a better choice than the Angels. At least the Mets have pitchers that are already some of the best in the league and would have the pull to attract players in.

Mike you are actually killing me. How am I going to tell my grandchildren that you are the best player in Major League history and you made the playoffs in less than 20 percent of your seasons? Go win some actual baseball games. The Angels will continually fail you, especially with the Houston Astros dynasty sitting in your own division. All you need is a championship. You may of just destroyed your legacy by signing with a team that will fail miserably.

But congrats on the money. Consider me jealous.
