Three days away from March, basketball has come into the limelight. Here is the basketball you should catch on a Tuesday night.
Duke vs Virginia Tech 7 PM ET ESPN
Zion-less Duke rolls into Blacksburg on Super Tuesday in a top 20 matchup. Duke responded well to the blowout loss at home vs arch rivals UNC with a win in the Carrier Dome. Yes, Zion is not playing but Duke still has two of the top five picks in the upcoming NBA draft. RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish are going to have to play well in another tough road environment to pull out a win. Virginia Tech puts out one of the best defenses in the ACC week in and week out and will try to contain Duke’s freshman duo. Duke also needs a win to keep pace with UVA and UNC in the ACC regular season title hunt. Expect a close, electrifying game in Blacksburg.
Celtics vs Raptors 8 PM ET TNT
A possible Easter Conference Finals preview takes place tonight as the Raptors host the Celtics. The home team has won the previous three matchups this year, with the Celtics holding the 2-1 advantage. Losing two road games on the road, the Celtics need to prove they can win a big game on the road. After the road loss in Chicago Kyrie Irving said “I still don’t see anyone beating us in seven games”. The Raptors surely will have something to say about that with the second best record in the East. A playoff type atmosphere tonight will show us who the real Celtics are.
Wisconsin vs Indiana 9 PM ET ESPN
Immediately following Duke Virginia Tech is Ethan Happ and the Badgers squaring off with Indiana. Happ has arguably been the best player in the Big 10, leading the Badgers in points, rebounds, and assists. Happ’s only weakness is this free throw shooting. He shoots 43 percent from the line and is a huge issue for Wisconsin. With Indiana being at home, they will be able to keep it close towards the end of the game. Watch out for the Hack-a-Happ strategy to come into effect if the game is close towards the end. Wisconsin needs to come up with a strategy to deal with Happ and his free throw struggles to pull out of win at Assembly Hall.
