March has begun so that only means one thing. College basketball. The first conference tournament begins today and the final week of the college basketball regular season begins. Let the madness ensue.

Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament Quarterfinals ESPN+

The Atlantic Sun is obviously not a premier conference in the country. But conference tournament basketball is conference tournament basketball. Lipscomb and Liberty come in as overwhelming favorites to face off in the championship. Both 14-2 in conference play, both teams dominated throughout the conference. Former NCAA tournament cinderella Florida Gulf Coast is the four seed and will be hoping to be back in the big dance. It may be difficult to get you to watch lowly mid major quarterfinal matchups, but if you're ready to get March Madness underway, this is the beginning.

Texas vs Texas Tech 9 PM EST ESPN

One of the worst road teams in the Big 12 visits one of the best home teams as the Longhorns travel to Lubbock to face Texas Tech. This is a huge game for more than these two teams. Kansas State, Kansas, and Baylor all still have chances at least a share of the Big 12 regular season title. While the chances are slim for Baylor, a loss for Tech tonight and both Kansas schools will be licking their chops. The Red Raiders have no excuse to lose this game. Texas is 2-7 on the road this year while Texas Tech is 15-1 at home. Only allowing 55 points a game at home, they should be able to stop an average and inconsistent Texas offense. Tonight could secure at least a share in the Big 12 title tonight for the Red Raiders.

Kansas State vs TCU 9 PM EST ESPN2

Kansas State is in a similar state as Texas Tech, just a little bit harder of an obstacle. They play on the road today against a decent TCU team. While TCU may not be fighting for a conference championship, they need a quality win. Current one of the last four in according to Joe Lunardi, a win vs Kansas State would really help their resume. Kansas State on the other hand needs to keep pace in the conference title race. Not only do they want to win it themselves, but they want to end their arch rivals’ Kansas conference streak. The Wildcats are still one of the best defensive teams in the Big 12 and need to keep that going to pull a win out in Fort Worth tonight. A win tonight will do the same as it would for Texas Tech, be a big step towards at least a share of the Big 12 championship.
