Today is a MUST win for Liverpool

The Premier League title race with Liverpool, Man City, and Spurs within all within six points of each other. All three are in action today against Watford, West Ham, and Chelsea respectively. All three games are huge games for each team, but especially for Liverpool.

Liverpool have drawn three out of their last four Premier League games, with all of the draws but one against non-top six sides. A point at Old Trafford may not of been the worst result, but the Reds needed more out of it.

Man City have been on Liverpool’s tail, winning three Premier League games in a row by a combined 11-1. A 6-0 win against Chelsea even but them top of the league for a few days. Aguero and Sterling have been on fire for the Blues with eight of the eleven goals being scored by the Argentinian and Englishmen.

Today is an absolute MUST win for Liverpool. Looking at the schedules, there is no more room for either team to drop points. Both only have two more games against traditional top six sides and the rest of the scheduled opponents should be three points for both teams. City have been here before and know how to win a league title. Liverpool needs a near perfect end to a Premier League run if they want to lift the trophy in the middle of May.

Draws or losses against mid to low table teams will not get by anymore for Liverpool. With City’s goal difference nearly ten goals better, Liverpool need to pick up the maximum amount of points. The top three of Mane, Firmino, and Salah need to step up and score the goals they are used to scoring for the rest of the season. Watford sit in seventh right now and pose a threat to take points away from the game. If Liverpool do not win, City will run away with the league and Liverpool’s title drought will continue.
